🏦 2/ US Politicians potential insider trading: Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene Adds Bullish ASML Holding to Portfolio

In a week with relatively low trading activity from Congress, one member was already reaping profits thanks to the mile-high success of ASML Holding NV. Rep. Greene, serving on the Committee on Oversight and Reform, the Committee on Homeland Security, and the Committee on Coronavirus Pandemic, made a bullish bet on the semiconductor stock.
On June 24, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene purchased ASML Holding NV (ASML) shares at a stock price of $1,002.01. With its constant rise, ASML shares have risen by 6.93% since the Congresswoman’s purchase.
ASML Holding NV is a Dutch multinational company specializing in the development and manufacturing of photolithography machines used to produce computer chips. The company's advanced lithography systems, particularly its extreme ultraviolet (EUV) technology, are critical for the production of the most advanced computer chips. ASML's market-leading position and robust customer demand have contributed to its impressive growth, raising the company to a Market Cap of more than 420 billion USD.

STORY #1: Financial Moves: Nancy Pelosi's Husband Discloses Significant Trades

Nancy Pelosi, former Speaker of the House and current representative of California’s 11th Congressional District, is a prominent figure in American politics and now holds the title of Speaker Emerita. Known for her leadership, she also infamously holds the title of 'Most Profitable Congress Trader' due to the high-value trades made by her husband, Paul Pelosi, an investment professional.
Paul Pelosi's recent trades, disclosed between June 24 and July 1, reflect a strategic focus on technology and AI stocks. These transactions included:
Broadcom Inc (AVGO): On June 24, they purchased 20 call options with an $800 strike price, expiring on June 20, 2025, valued between $1 million and $5 million. Since the purchase, Broadcom's stock has risen by over 4%.
Nvidia Corporation (NVDA): Purchased 10,000 shares, valued between $1 million and $5 million.
Tesla Inc (TSLA): Sold 2,500 shares on June 6, valued between $250,000 and $500,000.
Visa Inc (V): Sold 2,000 shares on July 1, valued between $500,000 and $1 million.
The trading activities of Congress members and their spouses have been under scrutiny, with calls for a ban on individual stock trading due to potential access to sensitive information. Pelosi has opposed such legislation, emphasizing the importance of a free-market economy, and denying any allegations of insider trading involving her husband.
Nancy Pelosi’s financial portfolio has seen significant growth, with an estimated increase of $23 million year-to-date, which is 130 times her annual salary, according to Quiver Quantitative. The influence of her financial moves has led to the creation of ETFs that mimic the stock transactions of Congress members, highlighting the substantial impact of their trades.

STORY #2: Ferrari Launches New Warranty Schemes for Hybrid Models

Luxury sports car maker Ferrari NV (RACE.US) unveiled two new warranty extension schemes for its hybrid models, aimed at maintaining the resale value and performance of their electrified vehicles. These programs, Warranty Extension Hybrid and Power Hybrid, allow for the replacement of high-voltage battery packs (HVB) during the cars’ eighth and 16th years, supplementing Ferrari's existing five-year warranty on hybrid powertrain components.
The programs, transferable to subsequent owners, aim to uphold the long-term performance and excellence of hybrid Ferraris. Ferrari ensures future battery replacements will incorporate state-of-the-art technology to maintain original performance levels.
Additionally, the schemes offer extended factory warranties covering the entire vehicle and major powertrain components. These packages, spanning two to four years, are priced at approximately 7,000 euros ($7,530) annually. This coverage will extend to Ferrari's upcoming all-electric model, set for release next year.
Ferrari entered the hybrid-electric car market in 2019 with models like the SF90 Stradale, 296 GTB, and 296 GTS and plans to debut its first fully electric vehicle by the end of 2025.
In related financial news, Rep. Tommy Tuberville sold RACE shares on January 19, 2024, with the transaction ranging from $1,000 to $15,000.
