🏦 2/ US Politicians potential insider trading: Tommy Tuberville made +7% in one month with $GOGL

The Alabama lawmaker Senator Tuberville has often made his stance on congress trading, saying that banning the practice would demotivate future lawmakers from entering the arena of American politics.

Predominantly, the Senator has traded mostly IT stocks and reported up to 430 trades in the past year.

In his last trade disclosure, he reported a purchase of Golden Ocean Group (GOGL:US) stock valued up to $100,000. Since Feb 27 - the date of purchase - the stock has climbed by almost +7.11%. While this increase looks meager, it appears differently when compared to GOGL’s overall performance.

Golden Ocean Group Limited is a shipping giant with a vast fleet of dry bulk vessels worldwide. With one of the largest dry bulk fleets globally, the company is poised for substantial growth, as analysts anticipate profits to more than double in the coming years. This projected surge in profits suggests the likelihood of increased cash flow, which should contribute to a higher share valuation for the stock. Presently, GOGL stock is up by 31.28% YTD.

📄 3/ Interesting stock market stories

STORY #1:  Nancy Pelosi makes another AI investment

Nancy Pelosi has recently disclosed a new investment exceeding $1 million in Databricks, a pre-IPO company specializing in big data and generative AI.

She made this investment through Forge Investments' secondary markets platform.

Pelosi's connection to Databricks is strengthened by its San Francisco headquarters, located in her congressional district. The transaction, made on March 4, was promptly reported to comply with regulations outlined in the STOCK Act.

Pelosi has recently had strong performance within this industry, with large returns on her recent Nvidia (NVDA) investments.

Databricks focuses on data processing scheduling and management, including ETL, and utilizes AI to generate dashboards and visualizations. Despite challenges faced by many enterprise companies, Databricks stands out with remarkable growth. In September, it secured $500 million in funding, valuing the company at $43 billion. For the fiscal year ending January 31, 2024, Databricks generated $1.6 billion in revenue, representing a growth rate of over 50% compared to the previous year, which is notable given the current economic climate.
